Welcome to Thread Conscious:
Celebrating the Joy of Fashion, Food & Faith
Nik Sallie Franklin: Attorney. Entrepreneur. Blogger.
After taking a trademark class in law school, I launched Thread Conscious in November 2009 as a creative outlet, and a way to support women-owned businesses and test my entrepreneurial spirit.
My interests have always been eclectic, from food and fashion, to law and philanthropy, but there has always been one constant in my life: the love of the written word. Thread Conscious has grown as a brand as I have grown personally, professionally and spiritually.
It’s my hope that what you find here both inspires and empowers you to live your best life, one that’s full of beauty, creativity and love.

Personal style: I fell in love with London street style when I lived there, so it is rare to see me in anything other than black, white, or (shades) of grey. More is more in my opinion…from studded accessories to stacked bracelets to the perfect pair of over-the-top shoes. I am (slowly) experimenting with adding pops of color into my wardrobe, so stay tuned! Above all else, I believe life is too short to wear boring clothes.
When I am not tearing through issues of Vogue cover-to-cover, I enjoy seeing live music, running, and traveling to far-away places.
Eric Weitzel: Technophile. Culinary Connoisseur. Writer.
Personal Style: I love bright colors, color blocking and mixing colors in a way that is both delightful and unexpected.
Besides fashion, writing is one of my favorite creative outlets and I enjoy the challenge of conveying the richness of life through the written word.
Food creation is my favorite pastime. I can rarely be seen without a crafted cocktail or artisanal cuisine in hand. When I am not eating it, I am talking about it, or dreaming of my next culinary creation.
