(Paris trip continued)
After we arrived in Paris, we spent a day getting our bearings and exploring the city. I could have walked the streets and eaten the crepes forever!
One of the activities that I was so excited about was a French cooking class at La Cuisine Paris. We gathered in a big kitchen with views of the Seine, and cooked with the instructions of our French Chef, Emily.
We learned a lot about proper chopping techniques, browning duck, and don’t forget scorching custard with a blowtorch!
The menu was as follows:
Bonbons Croustillant de Crevettes au Basilic et Espelette (Crispy Shrimp “Bonbons” with Basil and Espelette Pepper)
Magret de Canard aux Abricots et Romarin (‘Magret’ Duck Breast, Apricot and Rosemary Sauce)
Poêlée de Brocoli à l’Ail (Brocoli Sautéed with Garlic)
Dégustation de Fromages du Terroir de notre Affineur (Plate of Artisanal Cheese picked by our Cheese Affineur)
Gratin de Fruits Rouges en Sabayon (Red Berry Sabayon)
At the end, all participants sat down and enjoyed, wine, cheese, and the fabulous meal we prepared. It was so memorable and tasty. We are going to try and recreate it for our family’s holiday dinner.
I would recommend La Cuisine Paris if you ever come to Paris!
