I just returned from an 8 day trip to Paris and I am excited to share some wonderful experiences with all of you! First though, I want to talk about the prep. Planning for a trip to Paris in August can be tricky, the weather is fickle and you never really know what you are going to get; rain, sun, hot, cold? I had to be prepared for everything but still leave room for all the clothes I intended to buy and bring home!
When planning to go to a city like Paris, You have to bring your fashion A-game! No jean shorts and t-shirts. This is why I had to bring a variety of options ranging from shorts (for the hot days), bow ties, athletic gear (in case I wanted to start working off those crepes early) and lots of great colors!
Pro Tip: use your shoes to fit your belts, underwear and socks, otherwise your are wasting all that empty space!
Next, I had to make sure I had all the amenities and reading materials necessary to keep me company on a long 12 hour flight. This included power adapters, headphones, Kindle reading tablet, iPad for games, magazines, snacks etc, and it all had to fit under my seat. Not always an easy task!
We were ready for everything! What I hadn’t planned for though was that it was so warm the entire time, that I ended up only wearing one pair of pants! I did a lot of shopping to replenish my lack of shorts in this situation! It didn’t matter though, we were in Paris!
What are some packing tricks that you use to make sure you have everything you need when traveling?
