Just a quick update: I recently received an email from “Kamrin” at Storemate, which she described as a “new startup I’m working on to fill the space between Pinterest and Klout.” I started wondering how Storemate differed from Looksoup, a platform I joined months ago that touted special features such as a popularity index- the more people liked your posts, the higher your score, indicating you as a “trusted style resource.” The platform was also focused on sharing the best fashion sales on the internet. I navigated to the Looksoup website, only to discover it was no longer in business:
“It is with great regret that we inform you that LookSoup project has been discontinued.
We have launched 6 month ago a Beta phase of LookSoup, after which time information from our investors that they cannot continue supporting the project.
The most important thing for us was your continuous support and engagement in LookSoup for which the team will remain forever thankful.
We wish you the very best in your endavours as your love for fashion makes the world a colorful place! And remember to keep spreading the Good Style.
The LookSoup team”
While this is a sad turn of events, I’m curious to see what Storemate really has to offer now.
Lastly, are you surviving SXSW?
