I don’t know about you, but venturing out this year into the abyss that is holiday retail seems more daunting than ever. Black Friday was a disaster, and though I really like brick and mortar shopping, I think embracing online shopping this year will prove just as satisfying.
So in thinking about the upcoming year,
I wanted to create a gift guide…
OK, I have to come clean. For weeks, I’ve been trying to come up with a holiday gift guide, but I gots nothin’. Nada, zip. I even reached out to friends for suggestions. Perhaps it’s a bit of writer’s block, or perhaps it’s the realization that everyone and their mama is throwing up gift guides all over the net. What’s one less gift guide this year?
I mean, there’s the usual hat, scarf or tie for the guy or girl in your life, or for your spirited friends, there’s always a gift set for him or her. For the foodie friend, you could always make reservations at their favorite restaurant, or better yet, have the food come to them.
If you’re looking for vintage things, I’ve got you covered– after all, it is cold outside now. Subscription services are great for folks who like gifts that keep on giving, month after month. And finally, for the loved one who has everything, why not donate to their favorite charity on their behalf? Yes, who needs another overly-involved-glitzy-kitschy gift guide?
